Review
"Dull, blotchy, uneven skin? Visibly improves your skin every minute you're in it. Our first hydrating foundation with Actyl C and SPF 20. Flawless all-day coverage. The formula helps skin look more radiant, fresher and even, with all-day wear" Maybelline.
This is one of Maybelline's new foundations for 2014 and after using it for about a week, here are my thoughts:
Variety
I wouldn't say it has the best variety when it comes to shades as after reading a few reviews a lot of people are complaining about the shades being to orange or dark for their skin. However I had no problem finding the perfect shade for me and I can say they have a lot of similar shades, which makes finding the perfect shade even easier.
Price
The Maybelline Superstay better Skin foundation retails for £8.99 (30ml) which is the exact same price as the Rimmel Wake me Up foundation (review - here). It may not be the cheapest drugstore foundation but it is a great value of money.
Packaging
Nothing too special I would say, it is a simple sleek packaging. Could be better, but it doesn't really bother me.
Ease of use
Like most of Maybelline foundations, this one comes with a built-in pump as well. This makes application easier in my opinion and the foundation doesn't dry out easily, in contrast to those that are in a jar. What I love about this foundation is that you can apply it on its own, no powder needed. I have normal to oily skin and I can't really say that I've used any foundation before without finishing it with powder. It blends easily and it gives more of a powdery/matte finish which makes your skin look flawless. Again from other reviews I read this foundation is suitable for all skin types. The only think that kind of bothers me is its smell, although it doesn't last, I find it a bit intense at first.

Coverage
I would say this foundation gives medium coverage but it is buildable and you can achieve even a high coverage. It managed to cover all of my spots with just one application. As I said before it is perfect on its own, but I haven't found any problem adding a concealer and finishing it with powder. It feels light on the skin and it looks really natural.
Longevity
Now, this is the category I always have problems with. As my skin is normal to oily I sometimes seem to have problems with dry patches and the foundation looks chalky in some areas after a couple of hours (like the MAC - Matchmaste foundation), but with this one I had no problems at all. It lasts for about 8-10 hours on my skin, which is really impressive for a foundation. Now this foundation claims that you will get a better looking skin after 3 weeks, which for me is kind of odd, as foundations don't really do that. However it has a vitamin formula, which may not be as bad for your skin as other foundations. It also has an SPF20 which is really important as well!
Round up
Pros:
- Medium to high coverage
- Lasts 8-10 hours without any problem
- Feels light on the skin and looks natural
- Comes with a built-in pump
- No need to finish it with powder
- Contains SPF20
- Contains a vitamin formula
- Suitable for all skin types
- Powdery, matte and flawless finish
- Buildable
Cons:
- Not the best packaging out there
- Not too many shades to choose from
- Kind of intense smell
I can't recommend this foundation enough, I think is one of the best foundations available at that price! The only problem is that there are not many light/dark shades to choose from.
Thanks for reading:)
